ABOUT US
The Institute is taking big and bold steps to touch all aspects of neuroscience, from basic and clinical research to clinical trials and patient care. Specifically, the Institute is making investments on three fronts – people, programs, and physical plants, ensuring that the brightest minds it recruits will work in some of the finest labs and patient care settings found anywhere.

Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Innovation Center
The RNI’s Innovation Center, opened in May 2019, features the latest technology for rapid applied human research. This unique facility has unparalleled capabilities in Human Performance and Recovery, Neuromodulation, Virtual Realty, Imaging, and Neuroscience Predictive Data Analytics all under one roof. The Center is working with national and international experts in a variety of public-private partnerships designed to accelerate discoveries and translate them into real-life applications. The Innovation Center anchors the RNI’s presence on the WVU Medicine campus.

Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Outpatient Ambulatory and Education Tower
This state-of-the-art Neuroscience Ambulatory and Education tower opened April of 2020. The tower has brought together the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and the new Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The tower also houses office and educational space, ambulatory clinics, procedure rooms, imaging suites, as well as multidisciplinary spine, stroke, and other centers.

Erma Byrd Biomedical Research Center
We’ve brought state-of-the-art technology to our operating rooms on our main campus in Morgantown. In April of 2018, we opened four SMART operating suites for neurosurgery that offer modular solutions and enhanced efficiencies. The new suites have been especially critical as we expand our capabilities in the area of epilepsy surgery and deep brain stimulation.

WVU Medicine Center for Hope and Healing
The new Center for Hope and Healing is offering world-class detox and treatment programs for people struggling with substance use disorder, spearheaded by a capable and compassionate group of experts.
